Sam’s family began attending church regularly when she was about 14. She found Sunday school intimidating at first but soon found her voice. It became clear to her that Sunday school was a place to learn God’s word, learn how to apply it to her life and have fun doing it. Sam knew early on that giving kids the opportunity to become who God intended them to be was what she wanted to do. It is her goal to educate teachers and children alike and to create a safe place for kids to find their own voices. One of her favorite quotes is from Herbert Hoover who once said, “Children are our most valuable resource”.
Anthony & Melissa have been involved in music since their teens. Anthony grew up playing the piano. He played at weddings and played percussion in school, but he didn’t start playing in church right away. He started playing in church at about 15 years old and has now been playing in various churches and at various church events for over 15 years. Melissa grew up singing in church and has been singing as part of chorals, choirs and worship teams since she was 15 years old. One of Anthony’s favorite quotes is from Matt Redman who said, “In the end, worship can never be a performance, something you’re pretending or putting on. It’s got to be overflow of your heart…..Worship is about getting personal with God, drawing close to God.” Along with the music department Anthony & Melissa take care of the Media & Sound departments. Anthony is also the assistant to the pastor.
